Alice KEY

Alice KEY was the daughter of Oliver KEY and Sarah (nee WADE). She married Samuel DUFFIELD (c1786 - bef 1861) on November 26, 1808 at Stoke Newington.

They lived at Providence Place in Tottenham and in the 1841 census, Alice’s widowed mother Sarah was living with them. Also there when the census was taken was their 10-year-old niece Alice, daughter of Alice’s brother Joseph and his wife Frances. Samuel was listed in the census as a proprietor of houses.

In 1851, Alice’s niece Alice was still living with them and was working as a milliner.

By 1861, Alice was listed as a widow. She was still living at Providence Place and her occupation was recorded as a fund holder. Living with her was a niece, Sarah Key PRIMMER, granddaughter of Alice’s sister Sarah KEY and her husband James GAYWOOD. Sarah Key PRIMMER was aged 17 and was a dressmaker.

Alice died on December 1, 1864 in Tottenham, aged 75.
